Although Wild Wild West Con was a huge event, it was not our only event in March. We also had the pleasure of performing for a close friend's 40th birthday party in our home base of San Luis Obispo, CA. The theme of the party itself was a fusion of a quinceañera and Day of the Dead, but our performance was a fusion of pieces from WWW Con and some new additions from our collaborators are home. A plethora of our host's friends turned out in amazing costumes from the ornate to the humorous and there were skull masks aplenty to be found. In addition to our performance near the end of the night, there were endless tacos, an open bar, face painting, henna, and a pinata full of treats!
Selia Something got all stretched out performing her controtionist yoga piece again, bringing the audience to gasp in wonder. She & Eve also started an on going gag of pretending to not know who Igor the Magister of Spheres, was! Igor performed her contact juggling again and then he and Selia began their juggling flirtation and spat on stage, prompting a bit of a hissy fit from the dramatic Eve who accused Selia of other nefarious deeds other than juggling.
Also gracing the stage, was the lovely Kitty Bangbang, a fantastic collaborator of our little troupe. She did a lovely rendition of "What Lola Wants" from Damn Yankees. A scintillating number of curves and cavorting that had the audience howling for more.
Finally to end the night and kick off the dance floor that was open to all attendees, the troupe donned onesies of our host's favorite animal - the hippo - and turned down for what.
Overall, this was a fun event for friends and family to celebrate the 40th birthday of an integral part of our SLO collective and to those who have moved to new areas of life and the world.
